In the 2015 animated film "Justice League: Gods and Monsters," viewers are transported to an alternate universe where Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman operate outside of the law. Batman, on the other hand, is Kirk Langstrom, a scientist who uses experimental methods to transform himself into a vampire-like creature. He preys on criminals and is feared by those who cross him. But unlike the traditional Batman, he also has a romantic relationship with Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman's backstory is also drastically different. She is not an Amazonian princess, but rather a New God named Bekka who fled her home planet and found refuge on Earth. Her love for Steve Trevor is what keeps her grounded, and she fights alongside Superman and Batman as a member of their team.
As the government hunts down the Justice League, viewers are left wondering who is truly behind the murders of the scientists. And when they discover that the real culprit is a former colleague of the group, they band together to clear their names and stop the true villain from destroying the world.
"Justice League: Gods and Monsters" offers a unique take on DC's iconic heroes and explores what could have been if their stories had taken a different path. It challenges the audience to question their perceptions of good and evil and showcases the complexity of these beloved characters.
